Meet the Artist

Alchemist Ceramics is the work of David Brewer, a ceramic artist based in the Sedona, Arizona area. His studio is a space where fire, earth, and water meet. Each piece is shaped by hand, transformed in flame, and finished with intention. The work reflects a simple philosophy: balance is created through connection, and transformation is a lifelong process.

David creates pottery meant to live with you. Vessels that become part of your rituals: morning coffee, evening tea, quiet moments that anchor your day. He believes functional art should offer both beauty and grounding, becoming a companion to the rhythms that bring joy and peace.

His path to ceramics began with a spark from a high school art teacher, Mr. Clyde Jacobs. That early encouragement stayed with him, quietly waiting until the right moment. Years later, during a period of deep personal transformation, David returned to clay and discovered the medium was more than an artistic outlet. It was a way back to himself.

Working with clay unlocked a creative spirit he didn’t realize he had set aside. Through each piece, he explores themes of nature, change, and renewal. Every vessel reflects the elements that shaped it and the evolution that continues to shape him.

We hope you find connection, beauty, and a sense of transformation in the work.

David’s Approach

Thoughtful intention permeates every step of the creation process, from the careful selection of clay to the meticulous shaping of the vessel, the enhancement of its surface, the burnishing and finishing touches, and the application of glaze unique to each piece.

Each vessel is burnished with amethyst to imbue it with the qualities of peace, clarity, protection, and spiritual growth, making it a sacred vessel for those who use it.

Evolution

Ideas begin with simplicity and persist in their evolution. Striking a balance between functionality and the artist’s intention to create work that is worthy of being incorporated into your daily routines.

Lasting impact

The goal is to create art that gives you a calm moment of reflection.
